ARD Radio Play Festival

The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) presents Inside Sonic at the ARD Radio Play Days, featuring contemporary works by students from the HfG and the University of Music Karlsruhe, as well as invited artists.

A special highlight of the program is Trevor Wishart’s composition "The Garden of Earthly Delights", which will be performed on both days at 19:00.

The program offers a cross-section of artistic works developed in the Media Art Sound department, showcasing creative engagements with sound at the intersection of technology and artistic expression. The focus lies on musical and artistic practices, as well as sound art inquiries into space, electronics, and sound. In recent semesters, various aesthetic concepts for immersion and multichannel sound have been explored, along with investigations into the perception of spatial sound. These approaches enable spatialization using ambisonic techniques or innovative methods such as diffusion.

The program is also a collaboration with students from the University of Music Karlsruhe (HfM) and Professor Markus Hechtle, as well as students from the South African College of Music (SACM) at the University of Cape Town (UCT), part of an exchange project supported by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung BWS plus.
