Following a two week intensive course with San Francisco machine-art pioneer and media artist Kal Spelletich, young artists from HfG will perform with their self-built interactive sound robots and electromechanical sound generators for one night only at the KAMUNA 2024. In a playful group performance of human and robot alike, video projections depicting the city of Karlsruhe will offer a topological and visual score.
This conjoined orchestra of man and machine is informed by the work of Terry Riley, Kraftwerk, David Tudor, John Cage, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Pauline Oliveros...
Audience members will witness unconventional approaches to technology and art. The thumping beats, symphonic strings, droning, and ambient sounds of the machines allow the audience to see, feel and hear a one of a kind experience. The improvisational nature of the performance ensures a sometimes mystical and always outrageous outcome. This is a rare opportunity to see one of Spelletich’s performances - not to be missed!
Robotic Soundscape: Interactive Robotic Sound Art Performance with machine art pioneer and media artist Kal Spelletich - A group performance by young artists from the HfG with a machine orchestra of interactive sound robots, electromechanical sound generators and automatic instruments exclusively for KAMUNA. Influenced by the work of Terry Riley, Kraftwerk, David Tudor, John Cage, Einstürzende Neubauten and Pauline Oliveros, a unique soundscape composition will be created. This is a rare opportunity to experience one of Kal Spelletich's performances. **Performances at 8 pm and 9 pm in the Studio.
