Roundabout

Roundabout is the traditional MK Sound annual semester project presentation focusing on sound, performances and audio-visual works.

Due to the pandemic and its resulting conditions, the aim was to create a small but finely curated show.

That year’s concert included pieces developed in the framework of Guest Professor Mark Fell’s seminar Dis-locational Practices, the joint seminar between HfG and HfM Karlsruhe Post-digitale Ästhetik und post-digitale Utopien, as well as Labor für Raum und Zeit, KI – Coding – Musik: DiE-CODER, and Circuitry-Based Sound.

Students were also invited to present their individual works, for example Anne Tönsmann with her band Gain Defect.

A stage was set up between the HfG and the Bundesanwaltschaft, with an additional indoor area prepared as a fallback in case of bad weather.

Internet-based real-time audio sessions were established to include performers from outside the HfG.
