Dizu & Friends Part Two is a real-time intercontinental live performance connecting Karlsruhe and Cape Town, presented as part of the Inside Sonic Concert at HfG Karlsruhe. Recorded live on 12 April 2025 at the Performancestudio HfG.
Performers in Karlsruhe and Cape Town play together simultaneously — Uhadi, marimba, and voice streamed live between the HfG stage and Milestone Recording Studios in Cape Town. The Uhadi is a traditional Southern African musical bow. This performance brings together musicians rooted in Southern African indigenous music traditions in a live transatlantic exchange.
The ensemble performed translocally across Karlsruhe and Cape Town via live stream, bringing together: Dizu Plaatjes, Lutho Kwaaiman, and Thabisa Dinga in Karlsruhe with Bathandwa Magqaza, Laphakade Myataza, Iviwe Nkopo, Lakheni Ntsodo, and Simphiwe Matle in Cape Town.
